Alexandra Urrutia-Comas, MHSA

Founder, President-Elect
Vice President, Operations
Aurora Sinai Medical Center

Alexandra Urrutia-Comas is the Vice-President of Operations for Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. She is actively engaged in the development and implementation of the Medical Center’s strategic direction and fostering relationships and collaboration with internal and external partners to determine strategic opportunities and programmatic growth.

Prior to her current role, Alexa served as the Vice President of Operations for Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Downtown Milwaukee. She began her tenure at Aurora Healthcare as a Senior Director Administrator of Clinic Operations for Aurora Heath Care Medical Group in Greater Milwaukee. Before her journey at Advocate Aurora, Alexa was Director of Operations Improvement at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare. Her healthcare journey in Wisconsin began with an Administrative Fellowship at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, where she then became the Administrative Officer for the Medicine Division. 

Alexa was selected and recognized as one of the  Milwaukee Business Journals’ 40 Under 40 Leaders in 2022. She was also elected by Advocate Aurora Health to be a participant in the inaugural Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) Leadership Academy in 2022.

Alexa is a founding member and the current president of the Wisconsin Chapter of the National Association of Latino Health Care Executives (NALHE). She has served in the Milwaukee Latino Health Coalition Steering Council and on the Community Advocates Board of Directors. She is also on the Board of the Directors of the United Community Center.

Ms. Urrutia-Comas is actively involved with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) serving as Regent beginning in March of 2024. Alexa has held numerous positions within the Wisconsin Chapter, including Chapter President and Chapter Programming Committee Co-Chair; she has  been a member of ACHE-WI and on the board since 2008. She received the ACHE-WI Diversity Champion Regent’s Award in 2019 and the ACHE-WI Early Careerist Regent’s Award in 2015. She is also a graduate of the WI-ACHE Chapter’s Leadership Development Program. Most recently, in November 2021, she became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, earning the FACHE designation.

Alexa received her Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA) at the University of Michigan School of Public Health in Ann Arbor and her bachelor’s degree in Health Administration and Policy at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).

Alexa was born and raised in Puerto Rico and enjoys visiting her family there regularly.  She lives on the East Side of Milwaukee with her husband, their daughter (toddler life!), and their dog. Alexa enjoys learning all that parenthood has to offer, working-out – weightlifting and boxing, trying new restaurants and cuisines, and enjoying everything the city of Milwaukee has to offer.
