Maritza was born in Mexico and raised in West Michigan. Maritza graduated from Ferris State University in 2019, obtaining a Bachelor of Healthcare Systems Administration. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2021, obtaining her Master’s in Healthcare Management and gaining a strong foundation in healthcare strategy and policy. 

Maritza currently works at Priority Health as a Senior Business Development Specialist where she helps identify initiatives that drive innovation, digital transformation, and growth in the healthcare industry. Maritza has experience leveraging her skills and certifications in agile project methodologies, design thinking, and process improvement, to support cross-functional teams, foster collaboration, and deliver value to members and ensure alignment and integration of strategic goals and outcomes within Priority Health.  

Maritza completed NALHE’s La Mesa Mentorship Program during its inaugural cohort in 2021. She is looking forward to contributing and passing her learnings to future early careerists. As a first-generation college graduate, Maritza is passionate about mentoring underserved students and actively engaging in volunteer work within her community. In her free time, Maritza enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and their three sons.
