Lesley Ramirez is a first-generation graduate, and a proud daughter of Mexican American parents. Currently, Lesley holds the position of Administrative Fellow at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center (MEDVAMC) in Houston, Texas. She is actively participating in the Graduate Healthcare Administration Training Program (GHATP), a rigorous 12-month training program that allows her to learn from, collaborate with Veterans Health Administration, and support professionals within the MEDVAMC Director’s office. By working closely with leaders, Lesley is expanding her knowledge of healthcare management to prepare herself for future management roles within the VA organization. Despite being an early careerist, Lesley is deeply committed to enhancing healthcare delivery and making valuable contributions to her community. Her passion lies in assisting those who have served our country.

Lesley’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Sam Houston State University, which equipped her with essential skills to address contemporary health challenges through effective leadership, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a focus on health equity. Following her undergraduate studies, Lesley made the decision to pursue a master’s degree. In the Fall of 2022, she successfully completed a dual Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and Master’s in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Texas Woman’s University. With numerous relatives who have served or are currently serving in the military, Lesley is determined to be an advocate for providing the highest quality healthcare to those who have made significant sacrifices for our nation.
