Sandra Ortiz is a driven and passionate first-generation Mexican American with a deep appreciation for her roots and a strong determination to make a positive impact in her community. For the past 29 years, Sandra has called the Shenandoah Valley her home, as her family immigrated to the United States in pursuit of new opportunities and a better life. With the support of her loved ones, Sandra graduated from James Madison University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Health Science, setting the foundation for her successful career in the healthcare industry.  
 
Since then, Sandra has dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of others through her work in Public Health. She has held various roles in Primary Care and Behavioral Health, gaining valuable experience and expertise in helping individuals and communities improve their overall well-being. Currently, Sandra is a member of the Sentara Health team, where she works one-on-one with parenting and pregnant teens as a home visitor, providing them with support, guidance, and resources to ensure a healthy and successful start to motherhood.  
 
Sandra’s dedication to her profession extends beyond her job duties. She hopes to be an inspiration to other Mexican Americans and future generations by breaking barriers and achieving success in her field. In her free time, Sandra enjoys immersing herself in nature, capturing moments through photography, and traveling to new places. Above all, she cherishes spending quality time with her family.
