Rosalba Lozano, MBA, FACHE, FACMPE, LSSGB, CPB, CPC, is the Director of Support Services at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital & Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.  

 She is board-certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow from the American College of Healthcare Executives, an MGMA Fellow from the Medical Group Management Association, an AAPC certified professional biller and coder from the American Academy of Professional Coders, and has obtained a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt designation as well as a Payer Contracting certificate from MGMA.  

 Before assuming her current role in the Summer of 2023, she was Manager of Business Operations, Surgery Administration, at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital & Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia in early 2023. Prior to that, Rosalba worked in the private equity healthcare sector as Director, Strategic Operations; Director, Data Analytics, Industry Insights & Special Projects; and Client Relations Manager at Onsite Women’s Health traveling across the United States expanding the company’s footprint and EBITDA from 2018-2022. Previous to that, she was a Practice Administrator at North Florida Surgeons where she oversaw operations across Northeast Florida and collaborated with MD Anderson performing breast cancer reconstruction cases for the plastics and reconstructive division of Florida Plastic Surgery Group, from 2014-2018 in Jacksonville, Florida. Earlier in her career she worked in her father’s private practice, internal medicine, starting as an intern and working her way up to Front Desk Manager and Administrative Coordinator at Candelaria Medical Center in El Paso, Texas from 2009-2013. Growing up Rosalba worked in a local, family-owned cake decorating business owned by her mother, Victoria’s Cake House in El Paso, TX, where she taught beginning cake decorating lessons on the weekends and learned an array of business principles she applies to this day in her career, from customer service skills, financial reports, educating and teaching, inventory processes, accounting principles, punctuality, competitor analysis, continuing education, the value of honest and hard work, among many others.  

In addition to her service being a founding board member and President of NALHE DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia) she has served in various boards and committees including President, Vice President, and Secretary of the Northeast Florida MGMA Chapter as well as the ACMPE Book of Knowledge Re-Designing Committee for National MGMA. She is also a member and volunteers in The Junior League and Zeta Tau Alpha Alumnae local chapters.  

She earned her Executive Development education from Yale School of Management, New Haven, Connecticut in Behavioral Economics: Negotiation Strategies, Leadership and Ethics. She earned her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Business Management and her Bachelor’s Degree in International Business and Marketing from The University of Texas at El Paso in El Paso, Texas. While earning her bachelor’s degree she pursued a semester abroad and studied International Business and French at The American Business School of Paris in Paris, France.  

More important than her professional accolades, Rosalba is proud to be a military spouse, ex-competitive gymnast, daughter, and sister. Happily married to Jonathan Lozano, MEM, SPHR, US Navy Head, Military Pay & Allowances Policy, and Former Submarine Officer, they currently reside in McLean, Virginia. She is proud of her Mexican heritage and is thankful for all the love and sacrifices her parents have made in their lifetime for their family to have a better future. She finds it fascinating that every member in her immediate family is a part of the healthcare industry and is excited to share this passion with her mother, Rosalba Miranda, Healthcare Administrator, and Revenue Cycle/Finance Professional; her father, Blas Miranda, MD, Internal Medicine, Owner Candelaria Medical Center; her sister, Victoria Miranda, MBA, PA-C, University of St. Francis, and her brother, Jorge Miranda, MD, Vascular Surgeon Resident at Baylor College of Medicine. It is an honor for her to be a part of a “Latin healthcare family” as well as to represent and advance Hispanic, Latino/Latina, and multicultural healthcare leaders in the DMV region. Vamos!
