David Guilloty is a second-year Master of Health Administration (MHA) student at the George Washington University (GWU) Milken Institute of Public Health. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, David has lived through many hardships that have led him to pursue a career in public health. The need for more proactive work in order to address access gaps in healthcare has become David’s largest motivation in following such a path in healthcare administration.  

David is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Microbiology with a minor degree in Project Management. His experience in healthcare includes working as a Public Policy Intern at RetireSafe, a small non-profit organization that advocates on behalf of senior Americans retirement benefits, and as a Financial Operations Intern at Hartford HealthCare, a large integrated healthcare system in Hartford, Connecticut. David holds various involvements and affiliations within the field of healthcare including being a student member of the American Congress of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). David also currently serves as the GWU MHA Students Association (MHASA) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusions (DEI) Chair, whose main goal is to continue to grow the conversation about the importance of diversity and inclusiveness within healthcare leadership roles.
