Alioska Motamedi

Assistant Vice President, GI Services Medstar Health

Alioska Adrian Motamedi serves as Assistant Vice President of Operations at MedStar Health. In her role, she provides leadership and oversight to a network of more than 30 sites for the Gastroenterology strategic service line spanning the Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. regions. With over 16 years of experience in the healthcare industry, she brings a wealth of expertise in her passion for leading healthcare operations.   

Alioska joined MedStar Health in 2014 serving as the Administrator of Gastroenterology & Endoscopy services at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Her responsibilities expanded over time to encompass a regional operations role, extending support to clinics, procedural facilities, and hospitals across the Washington region. 

Prior to her tenure at MedStar Health, Alioska served as the Director of Patient Access for Ascension Health’s Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C.  In this role, she led several department front-end operations, including the departments for insurance verification, financial clearance, bed management, and central scheduling. Alioska’s diverse leadership experience also includes healthcare consulting, where she worked with several healthcare institutions nationwide implementing strategic and process improvements in their front-end operations and revenue cycle. She also served previously as Healthcare Government Affairs Officer working in healthcare policy on Capitol Hill raising awareness about healthcare disparities. She completed her administrative fellowship at Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. 

Alioska earned a dual degree in Psychology and Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Health Administration Executive Management from George Mason University School of Public Health. Additionally, she completed a Certificate of Medical Bilingual Interpreting at Virginia Commonwealth University – MCV campus. 

AlIoska, who was born in Bolivia and raised in Fairfax, Virginia, has immense pride in representing her Bolivian heritage. She is one of the Founding Board of Directors and holds the role of Board Committee Chair Lead for the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives (NALHE) – DMV Chapter.
