Kalia Z. Aparicio

President

Kalia Z. Aparicio is a Panamanian native that graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and a Certificate in International Cultural Competency and Spanish, a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Texas Woman’s University, a Certification in Healthcare Innovation from Arizona State University, and a Certification in Public Health from Georgia Southern University.

Kalia enjoys leading with emotional intelligence, prioritizing the patient and clinician experience, and building culturally inclusive partnerships. She has served in Committees and Board of Director roles for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA), the National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE), the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives (NALHE), and the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). She was also a part of the inaugural 2021 La Mesa Emerging Leader Cohort and currently serves as an Advisor to the NALHE Greater Houston Chapter.

Additionally, she gives back to the community as a member of the Faithful Paws Pet Therapy Program with her Labradoodle Misty and is focused on civic leadership through the Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities and as a member of ForbesBLK. Kalia is the Director of Provider Services for the Hospital Specialty Service Group and the Ambulatory Group at TeamHealth, overseeing the onboarding, credentialing, and scheduling of 600+ clinicians.

As an avid adventurer, Kalia loves appreciating new cultures by traveling. She finds fulfillment in giving back through mentorship and elevating healthcare services that help communities navigate through health inequities. Her mission is to impact the world with kindness and tenacity. She lives by her favorite quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. “Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
