NALHE Federal Military Chapter

“Advancing Diversity in Federal and Military Healthcare Leadership!”

The primary purpose of the NALHE Federal/Military Chapter is to support Latino/Latina and multicultural individuals who are in federal and military healthcare to grow and advance professionally and demonstrate to each other and to the industry the increasing contributions made by Latino/Latina and multicultural individuals within the healthcare management profession.

Purpose

To provide a framework to bring together Federal Employee, Active-Duty Military and Veteran Latino/Latina and multicultural healthcare leaders and professionals, early careerists, students, local industry experts, community stakeholders, partners, sponsors, and affiliates as a group to meet, discuss, and influence factors which affect the representation of Latino/Latina and multicultural individuals in healthcare leadership roles locally and regionally; to foster greater participation in the advancement of diversity and inclusion and health equity initiatives.

Objectives

A

Support Latino/Latina and multicultural individuals who are in federal and military healthcare to grow and advance professionally and demonstrate to each other and to the industry the increasing contributions made by Latino/Latina and multicultural individuals within the healthcare management profession.

B

Encourage and provide tools for members to advance professionally and academically in the healthcare management profession.

C

Advocate for continued research, education and dissemination of information about Latino/Latina and multicultural community health issues.

D

Support members’ full participation in the healthcare management profession and its organizations and use the Chapter for the limited objectives stated above.

Goals

Partner with other professional organizations to host collaborative workshops/events

Recruit and retain general members while encouraging active participation in 1 or more of the standing committees

Develop connections and procure sponsorship for chapter sustainability

Metrics

New membership/ Member retention based on national benchmark

Partnerships with federal and military organizations
