My name is Aida Liz Vicente (maiden name, Hernandez) and I was born in Portsmouth Naval Hospital to Jose and Judith Hernandez. My family is originally from Puerto Rico and migrated to Virginia because my father served in the U.S. Navy. I currently live in Norfolk, Virginia with my three-year-old son, Dominic Jose, and my husband, Yamil Vicente.

I have been with Sentara since 2016 and have worked in all the divisions throughout my tenure in Sentara as an Operations Leader to include Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, Sentara Life Care, Sentara Medical Group, Sentara Community Care, and most recently, Sentara Corporate Strategy and Consumer Experience. I am honored to have won several awards for my leadership and expertise including the 2020 “Sentara CEO Award” for my work in expanding Virtual Care throughout the organization during the COVID-19 Pandemic and “Top Performing Practice Manager”. I changed career paths from Operations to Consumer Experience, recently, to assist our organization in our Transformation to become “One Sentara” as a Journey Lead. My passion and dedication to ensure our organization succeeds in providing quality health care to ALL has allowed me the opportunity to work in this exciting space.

Serving the community is important to me and I love to be involved in helping others. I currently serve as the Events and Volunteerism Committee Chair of the Leadership Society, Women United, through the United Way of Southampton Roads.

Additionally, I am the Vice President of my high school Alumni Association.
