Recently, President Biden and Vice President Harris announced selected individuals serving as non-federal members of the Biden-Harris COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force, including Dr. Octavio Martinez of New Braunfels, TX.
Octavio N. Martinez, Jr., M.D., M.P.H., M.B.A., F.A.P.A., is executive director of the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health at The University of Texas at Austin.
At this session, Dr. Martinez will be listening to NALHE leaders speak on behalf of the patients and the communities they serve and their practice experiences in the following four areas of focus regarding the COVID-19 pandemic:
-1. Data & Analytics- what should we be collecting; examples on racial equity, quality of care initiatives and how the Federal govt. can support this;
2. Access & Quality of Care;
3. Structural Drivers of Healthcare (better known as the Social Determinants of Health);
4. How to communicate this well through federal government and how we garner community engagement.
