Monica C. Vargas-Mahar, FACHE, MHA, is the Market Chief Operating Officer for The Hospitals of Providence and the Chief Executive Officer for the East Campus in El Paso, Texas.
Monica is Board Chair of the United Way of Greater El Paso. She is a board member of the Child Advocacy Centers of Texas, the Council on Policy Development for Texas Hospital Association, the UTEP Development Board, the Trinity Residency Advisory Council, The National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives, and the Institute for Healthy Living Executive Council. In 2012 Monica was named a Modern Healthcare “Up & Comer” by Modern Healthcare Magazine.
Monica earned her master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California.
